El Salvador's Luis Rubio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dumitru Nedelciu in the 11 minute of the game. Octav Stratulat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 16 in the game by Lucian Ipate from a close distance when the talented Ricardo Zorita managed to make a qualified save. El Salvador's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Marco Tamayo got a free kick in the 16th minute. A collision led to FC Liverpool YnWa getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Moise Fenici hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 27th minute of play forced FC Liverpool YnWa's goalkeeper Octav Stratulat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucian Ipate's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octav Stratulat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucian Ipate hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Alexandru Anton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Lucian Ipate came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the FC Liverpool YnWa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucian Ipate couldn't finish the play. Alexandru Anton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 51 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. After 60 minutes, Valentino Ferrant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the FC Liverpool YnWa players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentino Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. El Salvador's Luis Rubio quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dumitru Nedelciu, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Alexandru Anton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Alexandru Anton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot.
