The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karol Karbowski was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. 22 minutes into the match, Herbalists Opole's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Karol Karbowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Sylwester Barna took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stasio Borowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The Herbalists Opole fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Herbalists Opole's Stasio Borowski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Karol Karbowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. Karol Karbowski made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Luis Andino sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Karol Karbowski in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karol Karbowski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Karol Karbowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 76th minute. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices suffered a sore thigh after 82 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafal Cwojdak during the 82nd minute.
