In the 4th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentín Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Carlos Saúl Carillanca, made in the 7th minute of the game. Ronan Nolle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lautaro Navarro came out and tried to block the shot, but Ronan Nolle slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 21st minute. The supporters of S.S.Lazio booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Espiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronan Nolle might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronan Nolle ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the game, S.S.Lazio's Ronan Nolle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. When Luca Espinar came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Espinar couldn't finish the play. In the 36th match minute, S.S.Lazio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Darricades to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 38th minute of play forced S.S.Lazio's goalkeeper Diego Armando Otero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. Sebastian Villa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Diego Armando Otero made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Armando Otero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Villa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Armando Otero was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. In the 60th minute, Edmundo Espiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Joel Darricades hit a great ball. 90 minutes in the game Milagros Cabal after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Diego Armando Otero.
