The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Millrick got free with Dante Lacasa in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Wlokniarz Czestochowa's Lucjan Klewinski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 17th minute of play forced Wlokniarz Czestochowa's goalkeeper Janusz Trzaskoma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janusz Trzaskoma having to interfere. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Millrick came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Luca Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Zorita couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Wlokniarz Czestochowa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waclaw Plaski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Janusz Trzaskoma came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Janusz Trzaskoma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Luque was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 44 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the game, one of Mexico:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Dante Lacasa, was totally fooled by Wlokniarz Czestochowa's Elias Millrick, who 45 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
