The Les Tigres fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Les Tigres's Leonardo Tipi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Les Tigres's Gonzo Maradona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 15th minute of play. Leonardo Tipi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Thiago Pliego skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Edvard Võsandi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Thiago Pliego saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Orlando Casaus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Orlando Casaus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonzo Maradona breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 33 minutes into the game, Francisco Carballar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Les Tigres the free kick. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvard Võsandi in the 42nd minute of play.
