When Edvard Võsandi came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Les Tigres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvard Võsandi couldn't finish the play. Benigno Felo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Leonardo Tipi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Tipi in the 28th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Edvard Võsandi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Les Tigres's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edvard Võsandi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gonzo Maradona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 61 played minutes Les Tigres got a freekick which was hit by Lars Rönn. 64 minutes into the match, Les Tigres's goalkeeper Gonzo Maradona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Gaona. In the 66th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Gonzo Maradona. Les Tigres's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Gonzo Maradona successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Les Tigres made a substitution. Sermet Erva replaced Luboš Štencl. Serafino Pestaña hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvard Võsandi in the 78th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Luca Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ömer-Asaf Güneş came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gonzo Maradona came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Tafalla slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 89th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
