The supporters of Mexico booed when Sporting Chilcano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Justo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Santotis, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 11th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Sporting Chilcano's Heli Monsalve nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 17th minute, Armando Santotis made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Dante Lacasa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 20th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. 24 minutes into the match, Sporting Chilcano's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Lizardi Montanez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match, Alberto Tafalla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lizardi Montanez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Alberto Tafalla's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lizardi Montanez firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Sporting Chilcano's Lizardi Montanez got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Heli Monsalve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. In the 77th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Lizardi Montanez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 80 minutes into the match, Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Lizardi Montanez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Lizardi Montanez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lizardi Montanez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Heli Monsalve hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 95 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Zorita. Sporting Chilcano succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mexico had controlled the match.
