After the first half Panama were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bilge Baykal was the one to do the kick off. Abraham Alguacil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Nejat Taykurt made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Abraham Alguacil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nejat Taykurt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Bize Heryer Trabzon's Osman Şahbaz got a free kick in the 61st minute. Nejat Taykurt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 67th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Teobald Betonowy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Panama could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bize Heryer Trabzon throughout the match.
