Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 邱正帆, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, 邱正帆 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and 邱正帆 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when 邱正帆 came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Cassius Byrne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 60 minutes into the game, USA's Monty Rogers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. 魏亮宇 made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 魏亮宇 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute.
