To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franco Milazzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Di Yue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edward Mcdonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik Kramer having to interfere. When Franco Milazzo came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the ★⭐★ C.A МαlνᎥηαՏ 〓 ★⭐★ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Milazzo couldn't finish the play. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Redondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Fernando Redondo took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Day. Marco Day dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With his leg Hendrik Kramer managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when USA's Cassius Byrne fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tomas Todor charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off.
