Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lance Malliouris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Schonebeck's goalkeeper Lance Malliouris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lance Malliouris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 9th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Schonebeck getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Mustafa Ekrem Avşar hit a great ball. After 17 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paul Some who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lance Malliouris didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice moves Bengt Persson could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 28 minutes, Bengt Persson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Schonebeck's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bengt Persson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when FC Schonebeck's Bengt Persson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Malliouris having to interfere. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lance Malliouris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Schonebeck's Lance Malliouris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 44th minute of play. Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a FC Schonebeck's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC Schonebeck booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lance Malliouris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th match minute, FC Schonebeck was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Laudrup to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Lance Malliouris made a huge save. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Lance Malliouris when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 94 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lothar Drinkard in the 95th minute of the match. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lance Malliouris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. FC Schonebeck were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
