An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 17th minute of play forced FC Szczucin's goalkeeper Iwan Swoboda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Emanuel Barbu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Emanuel Barbu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to FC Szczucin getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Iwo Kilar hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC Szczucin's Edgar Zima got a free kick in the 45th minute. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
In the 54th minute, Emanuel Barbu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Szczucin's attentive Edmund Walentowicz managed to snatch the ball when Primitivo Andino made a throw-in in the 94th minute of the game.
