In the 16th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amuruza Lillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amuruza Lillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 23 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Amarante Gibert sent off a good shot on target. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amuruza Lillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Mancebo ran back to his position shaking his head. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. 39 minutes into the game, Baudelio Echavarri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 43rd minute of play.

Junta De Los Rios CF's Ricardo Carballido was substituted for Fructuoso Olle. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Lautaro Mancebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 54 minutes Junta De Los Rios CF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. In the 55th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Junta De Los Rios CF's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Amuruza Lillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Junta De Los Rios CF from getting a goal against them. After 79 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Ricardo Carballido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Junta De Los Rios CF from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celestino Marques in the 90th minute of the match. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Amuruza Lillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. In the 97th minute, Facundo Cadaval reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amuruza Lillo. The goal made the score 2-2. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
