With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Lee Hislop tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Dakar Olympique getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Daniel Whittaker hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Hislop. Thiago Pliego didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Dakar Olympique's Kris Upson shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Vágner de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Carballar in the 28th minute of the match. Orlando Casaus kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Guillermo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner de Lara having to interfere. In the 37th minute Kris Upson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vágner de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graeme Tinker, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, Dakar Olympique's Vágner de Lara got control of the ball when Orlando Casaus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Mariano Lacasa could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Vágner de Lara however easily saved by the left post. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vágner de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vágner de Lara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vágner de Lara made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd minute, Gerardo Pozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geoff Vassell hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Upson, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Hislop came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vágner de Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Vágner de Lara made a huge save. Graeme Tinker took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Chile's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Dakar Olympique had won, even though Chile had held more of the ball.
