Vágner de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 25th minute of the match. Dakar Olympique's Vágner de Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 28th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dakar Olympique's goalkeeper Vágner de Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Dakar Olympique's Vágner de Lara. Vágner de Lara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 45th minute, Dakar Olympique's Graeme Tinker ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mexico booed when Dakar Olympique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matty Dowrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Joel Gaona in the 53rd minute really tested Vágner de Lara's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 55 minutes into the match, Dakar Olympique's goalkeeper Vágner de Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graeme Tinker, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Lee Hislop kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Dakar Olympique's Vágner de Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Dakar Olympique from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 75th minute of play forced Dakar Olympique's goalkeeper Vágner de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Mexico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 79 minutes into the match, Dakar Olympique's goalkeeper Vágner de Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. Keiran Woodyat charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Keiran Woodyat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Keiran Woodyat hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When Lautaro Mancebo fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Lautaro Mancebo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Dakar Olympique booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Mancebo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Keiran Woodyat took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Many of Mexico's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but Dakar Olympique were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
