Petros Karterouliotis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Giannis Kousas came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, AEK S.C's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Michael Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, AEK S.C's Isidro Tuñon got a free kick in the 28th minute. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vicente Buinton in the 34th minute. In the 40th play minute Vicente Buinton came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lautaro Navarro. 3-0. If Giannis Kousas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the game, Isidro Tuñon threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Buinton made a kick off. When Isidro Tuñon fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AEK S.C's protests and gave Isidro Tuñon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, AEK S.C's Isidro Tuñon got a free kick in the 54th minute. The audience was convinced that Vicente Buinton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Honduras's attentive Luca Espinar managed to snatch the ball when Isidro Tuñon made a throw-in in the 61st minute of the game. Michael Hedström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute of the match Honduras got a corner. AEK S.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmundo Espiga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Esteban Carvallo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcin Baszczyński in the 69th minute of the match. Lambros Vouzatos made in the 73rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Petros Karterouliotis immediately put the ball in play. Honduras's Luca Espinar quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Isidro Tuñon, made in the 79th minute of the game. Sebastian Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Luca Espinar hit a great ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Vicente Buinton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AEK S.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Buinton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norman Haiba in the 86th minute of play. Michael Hedström made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Sebastian Villa sent off a good shot on target. Isidro Tuñon got a throw-in 92 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Petros Karterouliotis. The AEK S.C players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
