Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vágner de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Upson in the 95th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Chile could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dakar Olympique throughout the match.
