But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Fontirroig couldn't finish the play. Camilo Freixa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Şteflea in the 31st minute of play. If Alfredo Ferrant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mario Fernandino came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gunnar Henriksson could save by the left post. The supporters of Inter 1908 Milan booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Emin Yağınalp in the 46th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mario Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 66 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Gallo. Mehmet Emin Yağınalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 75 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Ferrant. Camilo Freixa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliodor Şteflea, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Fontirroig to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the game, Norberto Beckman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Camilo Freixa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Camilo Freixa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Inter 1908 Milan walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
