In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's goalkeeper Stratos Vogiatzis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Markos Kopsidas fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's protests and gave Markos Kopsidas a yellow card for diving instead. Markos Kopsidas hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stratos Vogiatzis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stratos Vogiatzis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marios Natsouras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nasos Tsionas made a kick off. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Stratos Vogiatzis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Stratos Vogiatzis made a huge save. In the 56th minute, Panos Giataganis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 59 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lembit Lutsar, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Stratos Vogiatzis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's Stratos Vogiatzis did a great save. In the 76th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Stratos Vogiatzis. Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's Nasos Tsionas. But to his dismay, Nasos Tsionas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's goalkeeper Stratos Vogiatzis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Marios Natsouras hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Felix Montenegro came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stratos Vogiatzis could save by the left post. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Stratos Vogiatzis quite easily take care of the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Panos Giataganis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 92nd minute, Panos Giataganis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Π.Α.Ο.ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ.
