Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Brufoss IL getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Kevin Strømsnes hit a great ball. In the 3rd minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kai Østbye was slow to take the kick. During this time Brufoss IL's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Brufoss IL's Kai Østbye to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brufoss IL's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Brufoss IL's Borys Witek managed to reach the ball for a save. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 14 played minutes Brufoss IL got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Schol. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Markham in the 16th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Brufoss IL's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borys Witek came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 24 minutes into the game, Emmanuel Schol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brufoss IL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Emmanuel Schol hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Emmanuel Schol in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jose Correa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Markham in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. When Emanuel Markham came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Brufoss IL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Markham couldn't finish the play. Kent Remme took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 43 minutes into the game, Brufoss IL's Kent Remme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After 45 played minutes Brufoss IL got a freekick which was hit by Christer Ribe. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Markham made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Remme came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Remme in the 52nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kai Østbye, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Remme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brufoss IL's goalie prevented a goal. Borys Witek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kai Østbye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. When Brufoss IL's Emanuel Markham in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Kai Østbye charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kai Østbye the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd minute, Kai Østbye hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borys Witek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 83rd minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Markham. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kent Remme in the 94th minute of play. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Emanuel Markham tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over Brufoss IL could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
