Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steffen Kullgren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 11th match minute, Stjärnblomster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Fagerberg to maneuver through the defense. Stjärnblomster's Philip Gallin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Cazalla in the 12th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Steffen Kullgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steffen Kullgren in the 21st minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steffen Kullgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Maximiliano Escribanos short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Philip Gallin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 27th minute, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 29th minute, Steffen Kullgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrik Smefeldt during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stjärnblomster's Abelardo Vallejos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jaime Cazalla, made in the 37th minute of the game. Steffen Kullgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Leif Fagerberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philip Gallin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 48th minute. Bruno Beldad was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steffen Kullgren to strike the kick off in the second half. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Philip Gallin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. 58 minutes into the match, Stjärnblomster's Steffen Kullgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Sten Bergren in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo. In the 63rd minute, Bruno Beldad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steffen Kullgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Patrik Smefeldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. Patrik Smefeldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Philip Gallin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Steffen Kullgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steffen Kullgren's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Stjärnblomster's goalkeeper Philip Gallin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Stjärnblomster getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Sven-Ove Berggren hit a great ball. Philip Gallin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Although Uruguay had been in control for most of the match, Stjärnblomster still came away with the win.
