Thanks to some nice moves Giannis Kazatzis could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giannis Kassianidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giannis Kassianidis having to interfere. Viktoras Mavrakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giannis Kassianidis having to interfere. In the 27th match minute, AEK Lamia club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgos Trichas to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giannis Kazatzis, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AEK Lamia club's goalie prevented a goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viktoras Mavrakis in the 36th minute of the match. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viktoras Mavrakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giannis Kazatzis got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the game, Aimilios Kassapis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AEK Lamia club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 47 minutes, Giorgos Trichas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AEK Lamia club and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Giorgos Trichas hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Alex Chicote in the 49th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Giannis Kassianidis's left hand side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After having played for 55 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giannis Kazatzis in the 62nd minute of play. Viktoras Mavrakis took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in AEK Lamia club's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giannis Kassianidis came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viktoras Mavrakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 75th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giannis Kazatzis in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Viktoras Mavrakis came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Manolis Karaiskakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AEK Lamia club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
