The referee ignored Gärsnäs BF's protests and gave Emil Dahlberg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st match minute, Gärsnäs BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Dahlberg to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes in the game, Axel Tasis dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Frederick Griscti sent off a good shot on target. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when George Hägglund scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when George Hägglund got free with Benito Sanz in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gärsnäs BF's Dane Friebe got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, Frederick Griscti dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 0-7. Gärsnäs BF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
