Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Tino having to interfere. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stephan Testaferrata Bonici's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 7 minutes in the game, Alberto Tafalla fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benjamin Tino having to interfere. Benjamin Tino made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Facundo Cadaval heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Cordaro in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match, Alberto Tafalla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benjamin Tino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephan Testaferrata Bonici, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Benjamin Tino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Benjamin Tino successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Club El Progreso's Stephan Testaferrata Bonici. But to his dismay, Stephan Testaferrata Bonici quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Kranevitter in the 24th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 28th minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Tino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club El Progreso's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Benjamin Tino despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 40 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Benjamin Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute Cleto Cordaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cleto Cordaro to strike the kick off in the second half. Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 54th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleto Cordaro in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66thth minute of the game Cleto Cordaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Club El Progreso's Washington Papa was substituted for Adolfo Fidensio. Benjamin Tino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 72nd minute of the match. Benjamin Tino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Diego Portela charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Portela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Club El Progreso's Diego Portela got a free kick in the 81st minute. Benjamin Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 87th minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino. Benjamin Tino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cleto Cordaro got free with Dante Lacasa in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
