The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Philip Gallin in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 21st minute of play forced Stjärnblomster's goalkeeper Philip Gallin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steffen Kullgren in the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Philip Gallin in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Panama booed when Stjärnblomster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guto Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Gallin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. Stjärnblomster's Philip Gallin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Miralles in the 54th minute of play. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steffen Kullgren in the 56th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Alex Cambeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
