Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Manos Manteca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ambrosio Lonzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Manos Manteca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute. In the 15th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 played minutes, Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Muc Abeita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Discípulos de Ayn Rand reached it. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Discípulos de Ayn Rand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gudesteo Abaunza didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had been going on for 23 minutes Daniel Zorita shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Manos Manteca when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. When Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Ambrosio Lonzo in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muc Abeita, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Octavio Geleberto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Gudesteo Abaunza got a free kick in the 45th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ambrosio Lonzo made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavio Geleberto got free with Julio Vera in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd minute Discípulos de Ayn Rand were awarded a corner. Muc Abeita went to the cornerflag to take it. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Ambrosio Lonzo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ambrosio Lonzo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Argi Aballe was substituted for Gudesteo Abaunza. After 66 played minutes Discípulos de Ayn Rand got a freekick which was hit by Ambrosio Lonzo. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Discípulos de Ayn Rand's goalie prevented a goal. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Manos Manteca despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manos Manteca having to make a save. Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Muc Abeita got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Denis Abello tried to sneak it across the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! Jerold Abel walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ecuador had played much better football throughout.
