Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Josef Hellbom capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Josef Hellbom really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The supporters of Mexico booed when Al-Slottshöjden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Lindqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Al-Slottshöjden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörgen Lindqvist to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Josef Hellbom had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Josef Hellbom was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Reggie Clement ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Adilson do Vale to make any attempt to save it. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Hellbom in the 60th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Hellbom in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Al-Slottshöjden's Klas Falk got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Lautaro Mancebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Adilson do Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With his leg Adilson do Vale managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
