In the 16th minute, Hugo Söderkvist made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Josef Hellbom was slow to take the kick. During this time Al-Slottshöjden's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Colombia booed when Al-Slottshöjden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luka Weber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Axel Montenegro put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Adilson do Vale. 38 minutes into the match, Colombia's Axel Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adilson do Vale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 46th minute of play forced Al-Slottshöjden's goalkeeper Adilson do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Hellbom came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adilson do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 58th minute. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Adilson do Vale made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Klas Falk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After 67 played minutes Al-Slottshöjden got a freekick which was hit by Klas Falk. 73 minutes into the match, Reggie Clement had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reggie Clement was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Adilson do Vale was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ignacio Mastache showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 76 minute of play. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Hellbom in the 80th minute of play. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Al-Slottshöjden's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kevin Mastache took the corner. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josef Hellbom in the 90th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Kevin Mastache mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colombia and the Al-Slottshöjden players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute, Kevin Mastache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Colombia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
