The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 31st minute of the game Paschalis Kebakopoulos made a throw-in which Minas Papazachos played forward. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Yepes during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes got a free kick in the 35th minute. 40 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Marios Giannopoulos came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vaggelis Papakosmas in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Minas Papazachos during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a Skepαrion BC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Tamayo helped the player get up and apologised. Marco Tamayo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaggelis Papakosmas in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takis Voutsas in the 96th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
