A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 38th minute, Loco Cabezon's Rogelio Abajas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Rogelio Abajas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Loco Cabezon's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogelio Abajas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 56 played minutes, Loco Cabezon's Jose Eleder shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Loco Cabezon reached it. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Modesto Boni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Boni in the 67th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th match minute, Loco Cabezon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Perico to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leonides Galtero came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Illescas slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 72nd minute. Esteve Perico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Abajas in the 78th minute of play. Modesto Boni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Esteve Perico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
