Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Nerio Lopez de Toro sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Bob Hyatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of the match. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by ACC Mavericks's Nerio Lopez de Toro. But to his dismay, Nerio Lopez de Toro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 30thth minute of the game Nerio Lopez de Toro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Terry Hinson hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Bob Hyatt. ACC Mavericks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Steve Van Clynenbreugel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Nerio Lopez de Toro managed to get in a good position for a shot. ACC Mavericks's supporters rose to their feet, but Nerio Lopez de Toro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 37 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bob Hyatt was left in no man's land by his defense there! 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by ACC Mavericks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 47th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Bob Hyatt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Bob Hyatt successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 57th minute of play. Bob Hyatt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Tuan Eubanks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Tuan Eubanks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nerio Lopez de Toro in the 62nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nerio Lopez de Toro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, ACC Mavericks's Steve Van Clynenbreugel got a free kick in the 67th minute. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bob Hyatt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Bob Hyatt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ACC Mavericks.
