Elliot Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elliot Norström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Elliot Norström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th match minute, Calcio Brigate Rossonere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfred Näfver to maneuver through the defense. Elliot Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. In the 49th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Calcio Brigate Rossonere's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Elliot Norström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonny Vacker kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. When Cristian Sancho fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Cristian Sancho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sun Lightfoot in the 56th minute of play. Elliot Norström was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 77 minute of play.
