Club El Progreso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cleto Cordaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Club El Progreso's Cleto Cordaro, in the 12th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Club El Progreso. Alan Campos's late challenge caught a Club El Progreso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Campos helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 15th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Hector Covarrubias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club El Progreso the free kick. Hector Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Indiana Jones had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Indiana Jones was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 20 minutes, Indiana Jones made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indiana Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Indiana Jones took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After 34 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Escribano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 37th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jaime Pardo fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Jaime Pardo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute, Cleto Cordaro made a precise shot to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 58 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Escribano. Indiana Jones in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jacobo Nores, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 61st minute, Xavier Zoido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Indiana Jones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. If Cleto Cordaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66thth minute of the game Indiana Jones who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cleto Cordaro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jacobo Nores. That made the score 0-7 in the 68 minute of play. In the 70th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute of the match Club El Progreso got a corner. Paraguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adolfo Fidensio ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Indiana Jones kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the match, Indiana Jones notched a goal, 0-9, to the right of Paraguay's Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Indiana Jones put it in 0-10 from a short distance just to the right of Jacobo Nores. 87 minutes into the match, Indiana Jones notched a goal, 0-11, to the right of Paraguay's Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Cleto Cordaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club El Progreso's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Cordaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Club El Progreso's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
