After 16 minutes of play, Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Baia saved Brugge United from getting behind. 54 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 79th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
