Resita were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lorenzo Ott took the corner. C.S.M. Resita's Lorenzo Ott was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Benito Sanz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mariano Lott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chong Lamontagne's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Erasmo Mooney hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Quincy Cahill took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Garrett Gladu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 26th minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lott, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Chong Lamontagne recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Chong Lamontagne showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lott, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Mariano Lott dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Chong Lamontagne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 55 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Chong Lamontagne came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Mariano Lott made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Juan Rubio was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Ott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chong Lamontagne in the 68th minute of play. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Mariano Lott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 75th play minutes Chong Lamontagne shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Garrett Gladu in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a C.S.M. Resita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 84th minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lott in the 91st minute of the match. Lautaro Puig came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Garrett Gladu could save by the left post. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. C.S.M. Resita had played much better football throughout.
