Monitor Huáscar's Apostol Sokolov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 19th minute of play. Modestio Cañucal kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Apostol Sokolov made a huge save. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Monitor Huáscar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Montenegro took the corner. 31 minutes into the game, Modestio Cañucal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modestio Cañucal couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apostol Sokolov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apostol Sokolov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Secada in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 87th minute of play forced Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bernardinho Bala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Claudio Quiroga took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. The Colombia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Monitor Huáscar's performance. The match ended with a win for Monitor Huáscar.
