The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Domenico Lauro had in the 6thth minute some difficulties stopping Abraham Alguacil's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 6 minutes into the game, Abraham Alguacil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Domenico Lauro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferruccio Scalabrino got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Sacchi in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessio Giusti in the 16th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Alberigo Sacchi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Alberigo Sacchi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberigo Sacchi got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Cotilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alessio Giusti's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Dino Cavallaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. Miguel Miralles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domenico Lauro having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessio Giusti in the 41st minute of the match. Ferruccio Scalabrino charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferruccio Scalabrino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 played minutes NewDip F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ferruccio Scalabrino. Abraham Alguacil was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Domenico Lauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Miralles in the 67th minute of play. NewDip F.C.'s Alessio Giusti got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. NewDip F.C.'s Antonio Tripodi was substituted for Alessio Giusti. In the 75th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domenico Lauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Sacchi came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domenico Lauro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Berganza went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Di Maria in the 81st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, NewDip F.C.'s Fulvio Pesce got a free kick in the 88th minute. The Panama supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Panama would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
