Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Güner Özguven in the 5th minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Güner Özguven kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 11th minute, Güner Özguven made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 21 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mehmet Çağrı Açıker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Güner Özguven in the 36th minute of the match. The supporters of ATAKUM FK booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by ATAKUM FK's Naglis Alkevičius. But to his dismay, Naglis Alkevičius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Güner Özguven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. ATAKUM FK's Güner Özguven was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 52nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
