Florentino Dominix blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo de Coba's Florentino Dominix. But to his dismay, Florentino Dominix quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo de Coba's Norberto Giro got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Vicente Guerau ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Vicente Guerau's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Guerau helped the player get up and apologised. Vicente Guerau hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Deportivo de Coba's Tomás Pepillo got control of the ball when Axel Tasis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abel Carballo got a throw-in 47 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eliseo Noboa. After the first half Deportivo de Coba were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Edgard Mendiko charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgard Mendiko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edgard Mendiko hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 57 minutes, Florentino Dominix made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Florentino Dominix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florentino Dominix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florentino Dominix in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Florentino Dominix kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Herminio Nalo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Florentino Dominix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 85th minute Aaron Alcocer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Pepillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute Florentino Dominix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Dominix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florentino Dominix got free with Benito Sanz in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Deportivo de Coba left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
