Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Ambrosio Lonzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavio Geleberto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. When Ambrosio Lonzo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 11 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Benito Sanz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Muc Abeita came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Muc Abeita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Lonzo in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Muc Abeita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Muc Abeita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 23 minutes of play, Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Ambrosio Lonzo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ambrosio Lonzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Octavio Geleberto took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Octavio Geleberto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. The Discípulos de Ayn Rand fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Ambrosio Lonzo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 38th minute. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrosio Lonzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ambrosio Lonzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Octavio Geleberto made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Ambrosio Lonzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Octavio Geleberto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. In the 58th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Discípulos de Ayn Rand made a substitution. Argi Aballe replaced Gudesteo Abaunza. The supporters of Discípulos de Ayn Rand booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Discípulos de Ayn Rand's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 67th minute of the game, when Ricardinho Custódio after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Costa Rica's goal. Ricardinho Custódio was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Ambrosio Lonzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Ambrosio Lonzo lined in a short shot 0-8 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alexander Carballo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Costa Rica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alexander Carballo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 74th minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Denis Abello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cambranes Aballe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Denis Abello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Discípulos de Ayn Rand played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
