After 10 minutes of play, TUSE's Géza Tímár made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Krisztián Bartha. TUSE's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ferenc Szőllőssy in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Krisztián Bartha in the 46th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Krisztián Bartha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Krisztián Bartha came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Krisztián Bartha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Krisztián Bartha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. TUSE made a substitution. Kornél Várdai replaced Ferenc Szőllőssy. In the 95th match minute, TUSE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertold Gyurkovics to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. TUSE had won after a very even match.
