Vágner de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 21st minute of play. Vágner de Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vágner de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dakar Olympique made a substitution. Rueben Wildman replaced Kris Upson. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rueben Wildman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lautaro Mancebo to make the kick off. Guy Furlong hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 54 minutes into the game, Graeme Tinker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dakar Olympique's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. After 60 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vágner de Lara was left in no man's land by his defense there! 63 minutes into the match, Dakar Olympique's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Vágner de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Zorita. Vágner de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lee Hislop could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. A hard shot 72 in the game by Rueben Wildman from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. The supporters of Mexico booed when Dakar Olympique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Whittaker didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Alberto Tafalla scored 3-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vágner de Lara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Mexico booed when Dakar Olympique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rueben Wildman didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mexico had played much better football throughout.
