Miguel Miralles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. 林志景 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipe Ros hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 罗磊卫 kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 刘川宽, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. Alex Cambeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Isidoro Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 林志景 having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 林志景 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by 孟坚渊 in the 69th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 韩云耀's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
