To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 林志景 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 林志景 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 56th minute of play.
