When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Kurt Bure took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Marcos Cotilla to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arvin Ekerot saved Benknotorna from getting behind. When Abraham Alguacil came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abraham Alguacil couldn't finish the play. Arvin Ekerot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Arvin Ekerot in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 91 minutes, Kurt Bure mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benknotorna and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card.
