After 16 minutes YeniMalatyaSpor's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abraham Alguacil who took care of the corner kick. Panama's Abraham Alguacil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jardel Carvalho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jardel Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Alex Cambeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, YeniMalatyaSpor's Mauro Elazar tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Panama booed when YeniMalatyaSpor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Volkan Tuner didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Ulu Ruhi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th play minute Haşim Hürol came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcos Cotilla. 1-1. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Elazar in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute, Volkan Tuner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jardel Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jardel Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Jardel Carvalho had in the 44thth minute some difficulties stopping Abraham Alguacil's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 44th minute, Abraham Alguacil left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Elazar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Carvalho having to interfere. After 56 minutes of play, Panama's Abraham Alguacil made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jardel Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 59th minute, Miguel Miralles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Jardel Carvalho throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tomas Berganza in the 64thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 74th minute Haşim Hürol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Elazar in the 78th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Berganza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jardel Carvalho. That made the score 1-4 in the 80 minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Panama eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
