Leandro Bartoli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. Revolución Joao FC's Olavo Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 41st minute of play. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cuero Ibañez, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Bartoli got free with Marco Day in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aguinaga Casasola, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cuero Ibañez in the 58th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leandro Bartoli in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olavo Velloso was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jenson Smith. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Spencer, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 85 minutes into the match, Cuero Ibañez notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 88 minutes into the game, Alberto Spencer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
