Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomas Berganza started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Panama booed when Szombathelyi Haladás was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakab Szekeres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andor Mester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Panama's Alex Cambeiro got a free kick in the 10th minute. Miguel Miralles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nándor Jászberényi in the 20th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Nándor Jászberényi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szombathelyi Haladás's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nándor Jászberényi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Mózes Bartha got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. Andor Mester stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abraham Alguacil's shot from short distance in the 41st minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mózes Bartha made a kick off. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by István Szőlősi in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Nándor Jászberényi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andor Mester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Tomas Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gusztáv Détári hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Andor Mester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th match minute, Szombathelyi Haladás was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gusztáv Détári to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Panama's Abraham Alguacil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andor Mester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 72nd minute Mózes Bartha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute Nándor Jászberényi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Mózes Bartha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Szombathelyi Haladás getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Gusztáv Détári hit a great ball. Andor Mester acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 77th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Abraham Alguacil. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mózes Bartha in the 81st minute of play. Alex Cambeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andor Mester having to interfere. Gusztáv Nyitrai kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match.
