Rapinantes F.C.'s Claudinei Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 9th minute of play. Pete Bassett made in the 15th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Simon Berdoi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 17th minute of play forced Rapinantes F.C.'s goalkeeper Claudinei Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-5 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rūdis Bullit made a kick off. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Rapinantes F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Mina took the corner. After having played for 86 minutes, Rafael Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Gallo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinei Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
