To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mexico booed when Countdown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Demartis came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
